A waterfall in the forest. Final week an young man died at this waterfall. Downstream from right here a powerhouse feeds into the stream from the dam upstream. When I visited it right now a big beaver popped out from inside of it. <\/p>\n

I shot this on a tripod utilizing mirror lockup, a polarizing filter, and a 2Sec. selftimer. This image is composed of eight different exposures, a single typical exposure, three 1 cease overexposures, and 4 1 quit underexposures. I initial opened the RAW files in ACR and removed the chromatic aberrations and did slight sharpening. Then I opened the RAW files in Photomatix Pro and tone mapped them to my liking, but I could not get an HDR with all of the highlight and shadow detail I wanted so I make one HDR that was underexposed and showed highlight detail and I produced a single HDR that was overexposed and showed shadow detail. I then opened the HDRs in CS4 and double processed them collectively by mixing each one’s highlight and shadow detail. Then I removed some distracting branches with the clone tool and burned the tree trunks darker in the background to give the image more order. I slightly saturated and darkened the pine needles on the ground to make a greater contrast with the green pine needles. I lastly converted the 16 bit TIFF into a Jpeg and converted to sRGB colourspace to upload to the world wide web. Given that I double processed two HDR images I am calling this technique HHDR.<\/p>\n

\nA clear river flowing more than rocks in the winter. This is a tiny sliver of the Saint Mary’s River near the edge of the rapids. This stretch of rapids is prized for trophy rainbow trout fishing with rainbow trout being caught weighing a lot more than 20 pounds. The creaking of the ice I was standing on made me nervous as I was taking these shots.<\/p>\n
